American Writer

The podcast found here, at AmericanWriters.com, focuses on "mini-lessons" given in a variety of topics related to writing. What I like about the series of casts is that they are straightforward and easy to understand. I cannot, however, see listening to one in its entirety because I think I would lose my class. I can see play snippets of various topics.

I checked out the podcast on writing dialogue, and found it to be very useful. One criticism, which seems to hold true for many podcasts that I've heard so far, is that the musical interlude at the beginning is much too long. A musical bridge should be just that - a piece of music going from one point - the title/intro - to another - the body of the piece.

I think it is interesting that there are three options for each podcast; to Listen, Subscribe via iTunes, or Subscribe via another podcatcher. Maybe this isn't uncommon, but so far I haven't seen it before. I am totally new to blogging and podcasting!

I agree about the music, but it seems to go with the toic. If I were to use this, I would either select a few sections and play those or have the entire piece play while the students are working on their writing, sort of in the background.
